Tournament Bases

Registration requirements, arbitration fees, roster rules, tournament format, tie-breakers, finals structure, and additional league decisions. Please review carefully before registering.

Overview

The following bases apply to all teams participating in VMSC tournaments. By registering, teams and players agree to follow these rules and accept league decisions when situations are not explicitly covered.

Requirements for Registration
  • All teams must pay a $300.00 registration fee and a $100.00 deposit to complete registration.
  • Each team must pay $100.00 for arbitration before each game.
  • Teams must complete an official registration form including all player names.
  • Each player must have a league identification (I.D). Cost: $10.00 per player.
  • Teams must be properly uniformed by Date #4.
  • At least 70% of the uniform must consist of matching jersey and shorts.
  • Teams may register a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 12 players.
  • Roster changes are allowed up to Date #12.
  • Arbitration must be paid before each game — no exceptions.
  • All players must present their Valle del Mezquital League Identification (ID).
Discipline & Sanctions
  • Any player or coach who insults or aggresses an arbitrator, timekeeper, or league staff will be sanctioned with a minimum $30.00 penalty and game suspensions.
Tournament Dates & Tie-Breakers
  • 18 regular and finals tournament dates will be played.
  • If teams are tied within the qualification zone, tie-breakers will be applied in this order:
    1. Best goal difference
    2. Highest number of goals scored
    3. Head-to-head / global scoreboard among the teams involved
    4. Lowest number of goals conceded
    5. Elimination through penalty kicks among the teams involved
Finals Format & Qualification
  • Semifinals: 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3.
  • If tied in the semifinal, the team with the better position in the standings advances.
  • At the end of the regular tournament:
    • If there are 8 teams, the top 4 qualify.
    • If there are more than 12 teams, the top 8 qualify.
  • If there is a tie in the general standings between two or more teams, it will be resolved by the league and/or agreements reached by team delegates.
Re-Cup & League Decisions
  • Teams that do not qualify will play the Re-Cup.
  • Any additional points will be discussed in the first team managers meeting.
